5 Fantastic Memorial Day Recipes & How to Make Them


When you think of Memorial Day you likely think of food; hot dogs, chips, watermelon, and popsicles to name a few, are some of the most classic Memorial Day fare. If you are at the beach on vacation the food is even more important. You want recipes that are stress free, easy to make, and going to be healthy and filling while you play corn hole on those hot summer days. It is also vital to make things that are easy "grab and go" type foods for the little eaters of the group. People tend to spend time grazing the buffet tables at a Memorial Day party, so it is important to keep those grab and go foods in mind while keeping it fun and interesting. With our loyal Topsail Island vacationers in mind, we have compiled some of our favorite healthy and some not so healthy recipes for you to try out this year on Memorial Day! 

1. Red White & Blue Strawberry Cheesecake Bites


Our first recipe is a true red white and blue favorite. These summer berries topped off with a delicious cheesecake filling are the perfect finger food, without adding too many steps for those of us in the kitchen. Use these as a pre bbq appetizer or even a refreshing and light dessert that will please just about any croud!



2. Cheddar Bacon Ranch Dip (AKA Memorial Day Dip)

While the name says Italian, nothing could be more patriotic than a good sausage and peppers. This super easy and BBQ friendly recipe will be best for the adults among the group and its easy to just throw on hot dogs for the kids if you need to!




4. Loaded Baked Potato Salad



There is literally nothing better than a loaded baked potato, except loaded baked potato salad! this simple recipe is always a favorite at our Memorial Day bash and we wouldn't dream of having a party without it! Make sure to keep it refrigerated, as it does have mayo in it!



5. Patriotic Oreo Pops



Oreos are the quintessential American dessert. With the crunchy cookie and the sweet creamy center there is little debate as to why this american classic is a household favorite!
